Production Management

Umeda Kogyo uses its in-house production control system, F.P.I.sys, to thoroughly “visualize” the necessary data for operations, and instead of assigning a dedicated production control staff, each section manager is responsible for both production control operations and quality control.
In addition, by assigning a quality control manager and an environmental control manager directly under the Corporate Strategy Committee, we have been able to reduce the number of employees in charge of production management. The company has also appointed a quality control manager and an environmental control manager directly under the Corporate Strategy Committee, so that the executives can immediately identify and respond to any quality or environmental issues.

Order Processing

We strive to minimize input errors and shorten the time required for order processing by automatically importing electronic orders and batch importing orders from EXCEL. Orders can be processed in as little as one to two hours for repeat orders, regardless of whether there are several hundred orders at once.

Material Management

Information on the use of materials is sent to the person in charge of purchasing simultaneously with the processing of orders. The information is presented in a chronological order that is visually easy to understand, indicating which materials are to be used, including when and how many are to be used, and when shortages are expected, so that appropriate quantities may be arranged without delay.

Manufacturing Manual

Following order processing, written instructions are sorted into initial products and repeat products. Initial products are routed to the Design Department for programming, while repeat products are routed directly to the job site, eliminating unnecessary losses due to wasteful flow and enabling execution of construction immediately after receiving an order.

Order Processing

Under outsourcing management, the system automatically sets manufacturing schedules in accordance with regular deliveries by partner companies. The system prevents products from being stagnant in the factory, thus ensuring efficient manufacturing. Furthermore, at the time of receiving orders, the system enables the use of a handheld terminal to record all incoming data in a batch, making it clear which orders were received, as well as when and how many were delivered.

Outsourcing Management

During the final shipping process, shipments can be reviewed with a single view of information to be delivered up to the last 7 days. The information on whether the product is ready for shipment and to which process it has progressed is displayed to strictly ensure that on-time deliveries are made. Similar to outsourcing management, we utilize a handy terminal during shipment to clearly identify which orders have been shipped, when, and how many, to prevent delivery delays.
